Magazine

To develop the magazine within the context of the Humber ITAL Digital Technology + Typography 1 (Winter 2024) project, we followed a detailed process that included the following key steps:

Research and Planning:
We created a moodboard with visual inspiration, identifying the magazine’s theme, name, color palette, and typography. Typeface families were carefully selected to reflect the desired tone, combining serif and sans-serif fonts for consistency and contrast.

Sketches and Concept Development:
Manual sketches (thumbnails) were created for all pages, including the cover, table of contents, and feature articles, with a focus on applying consistent grid systems. We also structured the topics and concepts for the articles and ads.

Digital Development:
Using InDesign, we created an 8x10-inch document with a 0.125-inch bleed and established a consistent grid for editorial pages. Each page was designed according to the specifications, including: Cover     and masthead Feature     articles in spreads Interview     and full-page ad

Interactive Elements and Finalization:
We added at least six interactive elements, such as hyperlinks, animations, and buttons, to make the magazine more dynamic. Visual details, including pull quotes, drop caps, and typographic contrast, were incorporated to enhance readability and design.
